Raj Poojara is an exciting new comedy star who is taking the UK stand-up circuit by storm.  In 2021 he was one of the nominees in the BBC New Comedy Awards, a stepping stone for some of the UK’s hottest up and coming comedians.

Born and raised in London, to Indian parents, his first performance at the London’s Backyard Comedy Club went so well that his second gig was in front of a sold-out theatre as the opening act.

He has a long list of accolades to his name, having competed in some of the UK’s biggest comedy competitions in his first year of comedy.  These include being a finalist at ‘Rising Star’ New Comedian of the Year, ‘Go New York’ at South Ken Comedy Club and the Cavendish’s Comedy Virgins Max Turner Award.  He was also a semi-finalist at Get Up! Stand Up! New Comedian of the Year and ‘So You Think You’re Funny?’

He has his own YouTube series as well as co-hosting hit podcast ‘The Word on The Streets’ (TWOTS) with two fellow comedians.

Raj naturally speaks with a London accent and can do a good Indian accent with prep time. He speaks Gujarati.
