The first series starred Riley Keough as Christine Reade, a law student intern who also works as a high-end escort specialising in providing 'the girlfriend experience'. She was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance.
Subsequent series in 2017 and 2021 featured new characters with a new cast. Series 2 starred Anna Friel as Erica Myles and Narges Rashidi who played Erica's ex-girlfriend Darya Esford.
Series 3 starred Carmen Ejogo.
