Performed at Stratford-Upon-Avon's Swan Theatre in 2023, written by Mark Ravenhill and starring Samuel Bennett as composer Benjamin Britten, one of the 20th Century's greatest composers.
The play followed Britten's working relationship with the exuberant and passionate Imogen Holst (played by Victoria Yeates), daughter of Gustav and an accomplished musician in her own right. Her support becomes invaluable as he writes the opera 'Gloriana' to mark the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. Their brilliant but often turbulent working relationship created a bond that lasted for the rest of their lives.
