Emilia (Vaudeville Theatre, 2019) - Credits

Critically acclaimed production initially staged for a short run at the Globe, and then transferred to the West End's Vaudeville Theatre in 2015, written by Morgan Lloyd Malcolm and directed by Nicole Charles.  The play tells the story of Elizabethan poet Emilia Bassano who is suspected to be the 'Dark Lady' referred to in Shakespeare's sonnets. Set in 1609, Emilia fights for her and other women to earn respect, equality, opportunity and education. Three different actresses portray Emilia at different stages of her life.  The Independent called it an “extraordinarily rousing new play”.  The show was produced by an all-female team with Saffron Coomber, Adelle Leonce, and Clare Perkins playing the Emilias.
