2001 film, set in the 1930s, about a group of rich and famous Britons and their servants who gather at the country house Gosford Park for a shooting weekend. But when a murder is discovered after a dinner party they all become suspects.
The film had a huge ensemble cast including Michael Gambon, Kristin Scott Thomas, Maggie Smith, Tom Hollander, Helen Mirren, Richard E. Grant, Kelly McDonald, Stephen Fry and Sophie Thompson, who played Dorothy, a still-room maid.
Directed by Robert Altman and written by Julian Fellowes.
The film won Best Original Screenplay at the Academy Awards as well as an additional 6 Academy Award nominations. It received 9 BAFTA nominations, winning two including Best British Film. Plus 5 Golden Globe nominations, winning Best Director for Robert Altman.
