2004-5 production of the play based on the Philip Pullman fantasy novel trilogy of the same name, and directed by Nicholas Hytner. The play was performed in two parts in alternate performances. The story is about two children who grow up in a series of parallel universes and tells of their adventures in which they meet a succession of fantasy creatures, all set against the backdrop of epic worldwide events. Starred Michelle Dockery, John Carlisle, Lesley Manville, Chiké Okonkwo & Alistair Petrie. The play won two Olivier Awards for Set Design and Lighting Design.
