Life On Mars - Credits

Hit BBC One time travelling TV series, named after the song by David Bowie, that ran for 2 series from 2006-2007.  It starred John Simm as DCI Sam Tyler, a policeman from Manchester who wakes up from a car accident to find he has time travelled to 1973.

There he continues to work in the same job, but as a DI, which is one rank lower than before, under the command of his boss DCI Gene Hunt (played by Philip Glenister).   Neither the audience nor the character can be sure whether he has died, fallen into a coma, or legitimately travelled in time.

The series won two International Emmy Awards for Best Drama Series.  It also received 3 BAFTA nominations, including for John Simm as Best Actor, winning the 2007 BAFTA 'Pioneer Award'.
