2017 production of Leonard Bernstein's musical which was made famous by the film that starred Gene Kelly (as Gabey) and Frank Sinatra (as Chip).
Set in New York in 1944, the story follows 3 American sailors on a 24-hour shore leave where each of them meets and connects with a woman. The classic track 'New York New York' (originally performed by Sinatra) forms part of the soundtrack.
This production was staged at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre and starred Danny Mac, Jacob Maynard and Samuel Edwards as Gabey, Chip and Ozzie. Siena Kelly starred as dancer Ivy Smith who falls for Gabey.
