2022 BBC One crime drama set in a Nottinghamshire mining village inspired by two real life murders in 2004. The drama follows two police officers - one from the local force and one from the Met Police - who try to solve the murders and uncover any link. The drama also explores the social divisions left in the community dating back to the events of the miners strike decades earlier.
Written by James Graham whose previous work includes 'Quiz' and 'Brexit: An Uncivil War'. Stars David Morrissey as Detective Chief Superintendent Ian St Clair and Claire Rushbrook as Cathy Rowley, sister in law to one of the victims. Robert Glenister, Lorraine Ashburn, Philip Jackson and Lesley Manville also starred.
Won Best Drama at the Royal Television Society Awards in 2023, with David Morrissey nominated for Best Actor for his role. The series was also nominated for a BAFTA for Best Drama, with Adeel Aktar winning the Best Supporting Actor BAFTA.
A second series was released in 2024 with David reprising his role as Ian St Clair, who has now retired from the police and is heading up Violence Intervention Team for the local council. Lorraine Ashburn also returned as did Philip Jackson. Jorden Myrie also had a role in the second series playing Marcus Clarke.
