Olivier Award winning actress Laura Donnelly starred as the female lead, Elsa Bloodstone, part of a family of monster hunters who is described by her father as "the greatest disappointment of his life. When her father, from who she is estranged, dies, she competes against 5 experienced monster hunters to find the new leader of the Bloodstones. One of the other competitors is Jack Russell (played by Gael García Bernal), a monster hunter who has been afflicted with a curse that turns him into a werewolf. The film is shot in black and white and exudes an "exceptional air of self-contained, '30s Art Deco horror elegance" (Mashable).
