Brigid Zengeni is currently starring in an exhilarating new staging of Shakespeare's 'Coriolanus' which is on at Sydney's Neilson Nutshell Theatre until 19th July. The play will then transfer to the Arts Centre in Melbourne from 24th July to 10th August.
She plays Volumnia, the mother of Coriolanus, who plays a large role in his life, encouraging him in his military success and urging him to seek political office. When he is exiled by the Romans, joining their military enemies, she manages to persuade him not to take vengeance on Rome and she becomes a heroine to the city.
