Lorne MacFadyen stars in “profound and moving” queer love story ‘On the Sea’ which will have its UK premiere at the Edinburgh Film Festival

Independent film 'On the Sea' has been announced as part of the Official Selection at next month's Edinburgh International Film Festival, (EIFF) with its World Premiere taking place on Saturday 16th August.

The "profound and moving" queer love story stars Lorne MacFadyen as itinerant deckhand Daniel and Barry Ward as contented, married mussel farmer Jack.  When Daniel arrives in a remote, church-going Welsh fishing community he quickly makes clear his feelings for Jack, throwing the humdrum contentment and daily routine of Jack's life into chaos.

"With its elegant visual style, powerful performances and disarmingly frank script, this is queer cinema at its most candid, sensual and raw" - Paul Ridd, CEO and Director of EIFF.

Tickets are available for the premiere, as well as further screenings on 17th and 18th August.
