Paramount+ has today released its highly anticipated 8-part series 'A Gentleman in Moscow', based on the bestselling book of the same name by author Amor Towles.
The series is set in the 1920s in the aftermath of the Bolshevik Revolution and stars Ewan McGregor as Count Alexander Rostov, a Russian aristocrat who is spared from death and placed on indefinite house arrest in Moscow's Hotel Metropole. He is threatened with death if he ever tries to leave. As the years pass Rostov makes a new life within the walls of the hotel while, outside, decades of tumultuous history unfold.
Johnny Harris is "perfectly cast" (The Guardian) as Secret Police Chief Osip Glebnikov who is obsessed with finding a reason to have Rostov killed - which becomes increasingly likely on account of Rostov's refusal to behave as he is expected.
The first episode is out today, Friday 29th March, with a a new episode released every Friday. Watch the trailer.
