Kenneth Branagh stars and co-directs a brand new staging of King Lear which premieres tonight, 26th October, at The Shed Theatre off-Broadway. This follows the success of his West End production of the tragedy which ran at the West End's Wyndham Theatre in 2023.
The impressive cast sees Branagh playing King Lear alongside a cast of recent RADA graduates including Saffron Coomber who plays Regan, King Lear's cruel middle daughter, and Caleb Obediah as Albany who is married to King Lear's equally cruel eldest daughter, Goneril.
Saffron is best known for her starring role in the Lenny Henry Windrush drama 'Three Little Birds' (ITV) and Steve McQueen's Golden Globe winning anthology series 'Small Axe'. She is an accomplished stage actress, with a number of critically acclaimed stage productions to her name.
Caleb is a series regular in Bridgerton (Netflix), playing Lord Cho in series 2 & 3. He also played Albany in Kenneth Branagh's 2023 West End production of King Lear.
Tickets are on sale now for the powerful new staging of Shakespeare's classic tragedy. From 26th October-15th December.
