Sophie Thompson stars in the Kiln Theatre's brand new play 'The Ballad of Hattie and James' which opens tomorrow night, Thursday 11th April.

She plays Hattie in the play which is described as "an epic, life-spanning tale of friendship, music, and the moments that change you forever". The story unfolds at St Pancras Station where a woman sits at the piano and plays a song inspired by the incredible story of a lifelong duet - the ballad of Hattie and James.  The music captivates commuters, tourists and, following a viral clip, millions people around the world.

Hattie and James (played by Charles Edwards) have found themselves inextricably linked with each other throughout their entire lives, for better or worse, and they cannot help but replay the experiences that have shaped them.

The play is written by Samuel Adamson, directed by Richard Twyman and is a co-production with the English Touring Theatre.  Runs until 18th May.  Book tickets
