The 6-part series is about the ill-fated historical voyage of the shipwrecked 'Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes', a ship sunk by the Royal Navy in 1804 off the Atlantic coast of Spain.
Award-winning actress T'Nia Miller stars as the formidable lawyer Susan McLean, who is representing Frank Wild (played by Stanley Tucci) whose company locates the wreck and claims its $500 million treasure. Legal wranglings ensue over the ownership of the biggest sunken treasure trove in history. A tense courtroom battle follows, which expands from Atlanta to Washington, with T'Nia's character at the centre of it.
La Fortuna will premiere with a double bill on Monday 17th January at 9pm on AMC, exclusively to BT TV customers (Channel 332).
When interviewed about her character T'Nia said “Oh my God, she’s a fighter. She’s vicious, and great fun. She really is about that American dream and getting what’s hers.” La Fortuna, she added, is a “nostalgic, treasure hunt, love story that takes place across two continents. It’s so beautifully shot – the cinematography is stunning – and it’s kind of leading the way in being multilingual, and that’s a beautiful thing.”
T'Nia is available for voiceovers from Anthea Represents. Click her image for her profile page & voiceover showreel.
