Director Mike Flanagan's latest project for Netflix 'The Fall of the House of Usher' is out today, Thursday 12th October. The wicked 8-part horror series is loosely based on the short story by Edgar Allan Poe and tells the story of the wealthy Usher pharmaceutical dynasty, run by ruthless twins Roderick and Madeleine Usher.
The story unfolds as one by one all of Roderick's children die, in gruesome and inexplicable ways, before coming back to haunt Roderick, each burning with undead rage.
T'Nia Miller stars as the eldest of Roderick Usher's doomed illegitimate children, Victorine LaFourcade, who has made helping people her life's work. But in a desire for her father's approval and affection starts to bend the rules of clinical trials, testing her revolutionary heart technology firstly on chimpanzees but then on humans.
In a recent interview T'Nia said, “She wants to basically be the new Roderick. She wants to be the CEO. She wants to run things.” She went on to say that she fell in love with the language that makes her character “ruthless with a heart.” And as she read the scripts, “the words felt good in my mouth — that’s always a good sign. Then when I spoke to [Flanagan] later, he was like, ‘Yeah, I wrote it for you.’ ”
T'Nia previously worked with Mike Flanagan on another spooky Netflix hit series 'The Haunting of Bly Manor'.
