Agness is a Zambian-American, Olivier Award winning Opera Singer and Actress. Hailed by the New York Times as “an Actress to watch and a mezzo-soprano force in the making with a gleaming voice and assured tone.” 

She won her Olivier Award in 2019 for Outstanding Achievement in Opera and a SKY ARTS Southbank Award for Best Opera for her work in Porgy and Bess with the English National Opera. 

Recently Agness filmed with Steve McQueen on his 'Hands' project (2020) & she co-starred alongside Bukky Bakray in mental health independent film 'Self-Charm' directed by Ella Greenwood in 2021.

Having lived & grown up in Pennsylvania, Agness's native accent is East Coast American. She uses Southern States American a lot in her work & is accomplished in other American accents.  

Born in Zambia and having lived there until she was 9 with regular visits, her African accents are also excellent; Zambian, Congolese, Nigerian, South African.
