Phill Martin has recently starred as Sasquatch in the 2022 Netflix comedy series ‘The Pentaverate’ which also starred Mike Myers, Lydia West and Rob Lowe. In 2024 he had a starring role as 'The Creep' in Series 2 of the acclaimed BBC Three comedy horror 'Wreck', playing the terrifying 'The Creep' who terrorises the survivors of a cruise ship massacre.
He played Hallgrímr Half-Troll in the 2022 action adventure film ‘The Northman’, about a Viking prince on a quest to avenge his father’s murder. The film also starred Nicole Kidman, Alexander Skarsgård and Ethan Hawke.
He is known for his character work with roles including playing ‘The Beast’ in horror film ‘The Village in the Woods’, playing ‘Lanky John’ in BBC sitcom ‘Mountain Goats’ and ‘Beast’ in action adventure film ‘Robin Hood: The Rebellion’. In 2015 he played ‘Goliath', one of Blackbeard's pirates, in the feature film ‘Pan’ which starred Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard. He was also a creature performer in ‘Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker’ and played a giant in ‘Jack the Giant Slayer’ which starred Ewan McGregor, Nicholas Hoult and Stanley Tucci.
In 2017 he played Thomas Garlick in the award-winning ITV fantasy crime drama ‘The Frankenstein Chronicles’ which starred Sean Bean. In the same year he also had a part in Joe Wilkinson & David Earl's Wild West comedy 'Giddy Up Gunty', part of the Sky Summer Shorts series.
Other film credits include playing Charlie in comedy horror film ‘Cannibals and Carpet Fitters’ which won awards on the indie film festival circuit, as well as a small role in Ridley Scott's Academy Award nominated film ‘Prometheus’ which starred Idris Elba and Charlize Theron.
Phill is from the East Midlands and can switch between a Nottingham or Derby accent. He specialises in character work.
