2023 production of Tennessee Williams' Pullitzer Prize winning play set on a Mississippi cotton plantation in the mid-1950s. This production ran at the Manchester Royal Exchange Theatre and starred Bayo Gbadamosi as Brick, a former football star and heir to his family's fortune.
The play tells the story of the wealthy Pollitt family who are gathered for patriarch Big Daddy's birthday, knowing he is dying of cancer and all vying to ensure they will be the one to inherit his fortune. Brick's wife Maggie ("Maggie the Cat") becomes increasingly fearful that her husband's heavy drinking and general malaise will jeopardise their chances and the estate will fall into the hands of his brother Gooper.
Directed by the Royal Exchange Theatre's Joint Artistic Director Roy Alexander Weise.
