Bayo stars as Lord Arkady, a close ally of the Russian Emperor, in all 3 series of Hulu’s Emmy winning satirical black comedy 'The Great', alongside Nicholas Hoult and Elle Fanning. He was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild award in 2020 for this role. The most recent series (S3) was released in 2023. He also played the lead role of Kariem in all 3 seasons of War of the Worlds for Fox/Canal Plus, alongside Gabriel Byrne and Stephen Campbell Moore. The most recent series of War of the Worlds was broadcast in the UK on Disney+ in 2022. Other TV credits include Dr Who, Casualty and This Time with Alan Partridge.
Recently (2023) he starred in a new stage production of 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof' at the Manchester Royal Exchange Theatre, playing Brick, former football star and heir to his family's fortune. Also in 2023 he starred in the off-Broadway production of the award winning play 'Foxes' which tackles the Black gay experience with "tenderness and beautiful depth". The play received critical acclaim during its West End run winning an Offie and a British Black Theatre Award. Other notable stage credits include playing Samuel in the acclaimed 2017-2018 National Theatre UK & US tour of 'The Barbershop Chronicles'. He also starred in the Royal Court's 2017 production of 'I See You' and which went on to tour South Africa.
He has audiobook experience, narrating the Rosewater Redemption for Hachette Audio and was duly recognised by the Publishers Association as one of their best new voices for 2021.
His native accent is London/Neutral and he also has a good Nigerian accent as he went to secondary school in Nigeria and he speaks Yoruba. In War of the Worlds his character is from South Sudan in East Africa.
