John Simm starred as Doctor Who's alter ego and nemesis 'The Master' in Series 3 (2007), returning in Series 10 (2017), as well as featuring in the 2009 Christmas special 'The End of Time'. Tosin Cole starred as Ryan Sinclair in Series 11 and 12 and Sacha Dhawan took over the role of 'The Master' for Series 12 (2020) and 13 (2022). Michelle Greenidge starred as Ruby's mum Carla in the 2023 Christmas Special and Series 14 (2024). T'Nia Miller, Kieran Bew and Amy Beth Hayes have also featured in the show.
