The premiere of the new series took place in LA on Sunday night with the main cast members all in attendance, including Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult and Bayo Gbadamosi. Bayo plays the role of Lord Arkady, a close friend and ally of Catherine's husband Emperor Peter III of Russia.
The first season of The Great was critically acclaimed and nominated for two Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards. The show tells the story of of the rise of Catherine the Great from outsider to the longest-reigning female ruler in Russia’s history. In Season 2 Catherine and her Emperor husband Peter III are expecting their first child.
All 10 episodes of the new season will premiere on Hulu in the US on Friday 19th November. The series will then be available in the UK on Starzplay, via Amazon Prime, from Sunday 5th December.
