BBC drama Sherwood and Netflix's Supacell have both received nominations in the 2025 BAFTA TV Awards for Best Drama Series

This year's BAFTA TV nominations have been announced with BBC crime drama 'Sherwood' and Netflix superhero series 'Supacell' both shortlisted for Best Drama Series.

The second series of Sherwood was released last year and saw David Morrissey return as Ian St Clair, now retired from the police and heading up a Violence Intervention Team for the local council, as well as Adam Hugill who returned as imprisoned serial killer Scott Rowley. Jorden Myrie also had a major role in this series playing Detective Inspector Marcus Clarke. This is the second time the show has been nominated for the Best Drama Series BAFTA.

Netflix's Supacell, written and directed by Rapman, premiered in 2024 and saw Tosin Cole starring as would-be superhero Michael Lasaki who suddenly finds himself able to travel through time. Adelayo Adedayo starred opposite him as his girlfriend Dionne who he has to rescue from an untimely death. Sutara Gayle played Mrs Johnson.
