The play was the third and final instalment in the trilogy from writers Clint Dyer and Roy Williams, a series of state of the nation plays about the black and white working class experience.
The play's opening was delayed when actress Jo Martin had to withdraw due to illness, so Sharon Duncan-Brewster heroically took her place with only 1 week of rehearsals. She played London matriarch Denise who has a love-hate relationship with Carly, her white "daughter-in-sin".
Ran at the National Theatre's Dorfman Theatre in autumn 2023.
