Musical theatre production featuring the songs of Bob Dylan, set in 1934 in Duluth, Minnesota against a backdrop of the Great Depression. The show made its world premiere at The Old Vic in 2017 and transferred to the West End's Noel Coward Theatre in 2018.
The story is narrated by Dr. Walker, physician to the Laine family. Nick Laine is the proprietor of a rundown guesthouse. The bank is threatening to foreclose on the property and he is desperate to find a way to save his family from homelessness.
Adam James starred as Dr. Walker.
The show was critically acclaimed, receiving a number of 5-star reviews and winning 2 Olivier Awards. It has gone on to have an extensive Broadway run and will return to the West End in 2025. The musical is also being made into a film.
