2024 Channel 4 8-part adaptation of the bestselling novel of the same name by Candice Carty-Williams. Carty-Williams was also the showrunner and exec producer for the TV series.
Tells the story of 25 year-old Queenie Jenkins who breaks up with her long-term boyfriend at the start of the story and sees her struggling with new relationships, work and family frictions. The novel was widely touted as the "Black Bridget Jones", but, unlike Bridget Jones, Queenie also explores political themes and the impact of institutional racism.
Michelle Greenidge starred as Aunty Maggie, sister of Queenie's mother who was absent for her childhood. Maggie is a constant in Queenie's life, supporting her through difficult times.
Tom Forbes also had a major role playing Ted, Queenie's co-worker at the Daily Read who strikes up a relationship with her in the middle of her break-up.
Shown in the US on Hulu and worldwide on Disney+.
