2025 production of Eugene Ionesco's classic aburdist satire performed at London's Almeida Theatre and starring Sọpẹ́ Dìrísù as Berenger (lead).
The play is set in provincial France and sees two friends meeting for a drink who can't believe their eyes when they see a rhinoceros charging across the town square. Before long all the townspeople are infected with 'rhinoceritis', turning into the thing they first feared, until there are almost no human beings left.
It is directed by Omar Elerian and is described as an "absurdist satire about resisting conformity and holding onto what’s left of our humanity as we resist the rumbling power of the herd". The play featured in The Guardian's best theatre to see in 2025.
