2014 West End premiere run of the play based on the 1998 Oscar winning film, adapted for the stage by Lee Hall. Produced by Disney Productions and Sonia Friedman Productions, the show opened at the Noel Coward Theatre in July 2014. Tells the story of young Will Shakespeare who is suffering from writers block who falls in love with Viola de Lesseps, the daughter of a rich merchant. Starred Tom Bateman as Will Shakespeare and Lucy Briggs-Owen as Viola. Also starring Paul Chahidi as Henslowe and Alistair Petrie as Wessex.
