New play which had its world premiere at London's Bush Theatre in early 2024. The "fierce new romance" starred Tosin Cole as Dre who is reunited with his former love Des (played by Heather Agyepong).
The couple met and fell in love as teenagers, but parted ways when Des left to pursue her art career. Destiny brings them together again years later, aged 32, when Dre's beloved nana dies, as we see their tale of long-lost first love unfold.
Described as "a tribute to the enduring power – and fragility – of memory and love", the play was directed by Evening Standard Theatre Award winner Lynette Linton and written by Benedict Lombe (winner of the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize for Playwriting and a Black British Theatre Award.)
After much critical acclaim, the play transferred to the West End's Duke of York Theatre later in 2024.
