Based on a true story, The Colour Room follows the journey of a determined, working-class woman, Clarice Cliff, played by Phoebe Dynevor in her first feature film role. Cliff was a renowned ceramic artist who, despite the barriers facing women, broke the glass ceiling and revolutionised the workplace in the 20th century and rose to become an icon. David Morrissey starred as renowned art designer Fred Ridgeway, who took her under his wing on as an apprentice and helped her to achieve her ambitions. Also starred Matthew Goode.
Darci Shaw played Clarice's sister Dot who also worked in the potteries and AK Golding played Peggy, another of the women working with them.
The film is set in the industrial Midlands potteries in the 1920s and premiered on Sky Cinema in November 2021.
