Historical film set against a backdrop of Germany in 1937, on the brink of World War II.
The film starred Jeremy Piven as Harold May, an American Jewish tap dancer who is invited to perform one show in Berlin for an exorbitant sum of money. Despite any misgivings he, along with his troupe, agree to the performance, only to realise that Adolf Hitler and many of his Nazi counterparts are his audience.
Based on a short story by Arthur Miller, the film premiered at the Rome Film Festival in 2023, and was shown at a number of international film festivals in 2024, including the Palm Springs Film Festival. The film was released cinematically in the US in early 2025.
As well as Jeremy Piven, the film also starred Robert Carlyle as well-to-do German Damian Fuglar, who approaches Harold and offers him the gig. Maimie McCoy also starred, playing Carol Conway, Harold’s once and future lover.
