Three Sisters - Credits

National Theatre production, which premiered in 2019 and ran into 2020, written by Barbershop Chronicles playwright Inua Ellams. This production took the characters from the classic Chekov play and relocated them from Russia to 1960s Nigeria which is on the brink of the Biafran Civil War following two military coups.

The play centres around three sisters, Lolo, Nne Chukwu and Udo, who are grieving the loss of their father and long to return to their former home in Lagos after the conflict encroaches on their provincial village. 

Sarah Niles starred as Lolo, the eldest of the three sisters and a passionate revolutionary and Jonathan Ajayi starred as Igwe. 

The play was also filmed as part of National Theatre Live and National Theatre at Home.
