2012-2013 production of Shakespeare's comedy of identity confusion, played initially at Shakespeare's Globe then transferred to the Apollo Theatre in London's West End. Following a shipwreck when twins Viola and Sebastian are separated, Viola pretends to be her brother to gain work. The resulting love triangle between Viola (posing as her brother), Orsino and Olivia causes chaos and hilarious confusion. Directed by Tim Carroll the production starred an all male cast including Mark Rylance as Olivia, Stephen Fry as Malvolio, Paul Chahidi as Maria and Samuel Barnett as Sebastian. The production was highly praised by critics and received a number of Olivier Award nominations, including nominations for Paul Chahidi and Mark Rylance.
The production transferred to Broadway in 2013.
