Alistair Petrie to play Rev. Richard Jones in 'Why Didn't They Ask Evans?', the new Agatha Christie TV adaptation for Britbox

The series is based on the 1934 Agatha Christie novel of the same name and follows Bobby Jones and his childhood friend, Lady Frances “Frankie” Derwent as they try to unravel the last words uttered by a dying man 'Why Didn't They Ask Evans'?  Alistair Petrie plays Bobby's father, Rev. Richard Jones, the hard-working vicar of the small town of Marchbolt.  

Will Poulter and Lucy Boynton star in the lead roles as Bobby and Frankie.  There will also be cameos by Emma Thompson and Jim Broadbent playing Frankie's parents, Lord and Lady Marcham. 

The three-part series is directed by Hugh Laurie, who also appears in show.  Britbox UK have announced that the series will premiere in the Spring.
