The new BBC series will tell the story of two women, Alice and Cheryl, who become trapped in a web of epic lies and distortion, by an alleged eco-preneur Dr Rob Chance, played by Alistair Petrie. The two very different women unite to expose the truth and take him down.
The synopsis for the new series describes it as, "a story about lies and artifice, about our weakness for self-deception, and about the rapid ascent of the modern fraudster".
Marianne Jean-Baptist and Rebekah Staton will star as Cheryl and Alice respectively. Karl Johnson will also have a major role in the new series, playing Alice's father and confidant.
The show's creators, Penelope and Ginny Skinner, recently said, "with an absolute dream cast, including stars like Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Rebekah Staton and Alistair Petrie, we are hugely proud that this show has found a home at the BBC.”
The BBC has yet to announce a release date but production is well underway.
