Alistair Petrie and Karl Johnson star in ‘The Following Events are Based on a Pack of Lies’ which will premiere on BBC One and iPlayer on Tuesday 29th August.
Alistair plays the leading role of conman Dr Rob Chance who claims to be a celebrated entrepreneur. But when two women, Alice (played by Rebekah Staton) and Cheryl (played by Marianne Jean-Baptiste), realise they have both been duped by the same man they join forces to try and take him down. The official BBC synopsis reads "It is the story of an unexpected friendship between two very different women and the power they’ll discover when they raise their voices in joyous rage. As they finally find the courage and self-belief to take charge, the con is on to try and take a sociopathic predator down."
Karl Johnson also has a major role in the series, playing Bill Newman, Alice's father and confidant.
Show creators Penelope and Ginny Skinner have described the cast as "an absolute dream cast". The series is produced by SISTER, known for producing Chernobyl, The Split and Gangs of London.
