The National Comedy Awards took place last night at London's Roundhouse and was broadcast live on Channel 4. The ceremony, hosted by Tom Allen, is part of Channel 4's Stand Up to Cancer campaign and celebrates the UK's most brilliant comedians.
Amy Gledhill was shortlisted in the 'Best Stand Up Show' category for her hilarious live show 'The Girl Before The Girl You Marry'. The show was one of the big hits of the Edinburgh Festival, and earned her a Dave Edinburgh Comedy Award 'Best Newcomer' nomination as well as a nominated for the NextUp Biggest Award in Comedy at the Festival in 2022. This was followed by a week-long sold-out run at London's Soho Theatre.
The shortlist for Best Stand Up Show was only revealed on Friday and viewers got to vote on Twitter for their favourite act during the show, which was eventually won by Joe Lycett's show 'More, More, More! How Do You Joe Lycett? How Do You Joe Lycett?'
