Amy Gledhill and Chris Cantrill’s podcast ‘Icklewick FM’ is nominated for Best Sitcom/Comedy Drama at this weekend’s BBC Audio Drama Awards

The BBC Audio Drama Awards take place this Sunday, 30th March with Amy Gledhill and Chris Cantrill's comedy series 'Icklewick FM' nominated for one of the coveted awards.

The 6-part comedy, which is currently available on BBC Sounds, has been shortlisted for Best Sitcom or Comedy Drama.

The show is set in a is set in a dysfunctional, fictional, northern radio station, which has become a soap box for the oddballs, big heads and concerned mums of a modern British post-industrial town. They recorded almost 24 hours of improvised material and then edited it down to three hours for these six episodes.

When released back in January, Chortle's reviewer Tim Harding described the show as "one of the most monumental experiences of the year".  He goes on to say "it successfully synthesises the quicksilver quality of live improvisation...I wish this would come out every week forever".

A second series is currently in development.
