HBO drama series 'Get Millie Black' is released today, Monday 25th November. The dramatic 5-part series sees a former Scotland Yard detective return to Jamaica to investigate a missing persons case, which leads her deep into the underworld of Kingston.
The show is created and written by author Marlon James and stars Tamara Lawrence as the titular Millie Black. Shipped off to England when she was a girl, where she eventually joined the police, Millie has returned to Jamaica following the death of her mother, joining the local police to investigate missing persons cases.
One particular case, that of a missing teenage girl who has become involved with an older affluent man, leads to Millie uncovering a complex criminal web that gets the attention of Scotland Yard who send one of their own detectives to help in the investigation.
Anjli Mohindra has a major role in the series, playing Meera.
The series premieres tonight on HBO and be available to stream on Max. It will also be shown on Channel 4 in 2025.
