King Gary star Laura Checkley has a leading role as tough prison guard Jackie. Starring alongside her are Nina Sosanya, Jamie-Lee O'Donnell and Faraz Ayub. The first episode of the six-part series will be shown at 9pm on Channel 4 on Thursday 6th January 2022. It will also be available to stream on All 4.
The series is written by BAFTA nominated writer Rob Williams, who also wrote Killing Eve and The Victim. He has written the series based on his own experience of working in prisons and promises an uncensored and often comedic look into the lives of officers and inmates in a modern day prison,
Laura told her followers on Instagram a bit about her character by saying" I play a prison guard called Jackie and guess what? you don't f**k with Jackie".
