Netflix's latest police procedural drama series 'Dept. Q' is released today, 29th May. The 9-part Edinburgh-set series follows Detective Carl Morck, played by Matthew Goode, who is set up in a new department to solve cold cases. His first case is to discover what happened to Merritt Linguard, played by Chloe Pirrie, a "ruthless and ambitious" prosecuting barrister who went missing from a ferry boat 4 years previously.
Merritt initially believes she is being punished for a case she worked on as a prosecutor, however it soon becomes apparent that she is being held by a family looking for revenge for something she did in her childhood.

"deeply intense and complex...a riveting watch" - Variety
Chloe is one of several Scottish stars in the cast, which also includes Kelly McDonald and Mark Bonnar. The series is inspired by the novels of the same name by Danish writer Jussi Adler-Olsen and is written and directed by Scott Frank, who also directed Chloe in 'The Queen's Gambit' in which she played Alice Harmon, mother to protagonist, chess superstar Beth Harmon.
