Kiln Theatre's hit musical production 'Two Strangers (Carry a Cake across New York)' has been given a West End run at the Criterion Theatre from April 2024.
The critically acclaimed show stars the supremely talented Dujonna Gift as the female lead, Robin, a streetwise, cynical New York barista whose sister is about to get married. Then she meets Douglas (played by Sam Tutty), a naive, impossibly upbeat Brit who arrives in the Big Apple to attend his dad's second wedding. When Robin is sent to collect him from the airport she instantly finds him childish and annoying but with the wedding fast approaching, the Big Apple at their feet and a cake to collect, anything could happen.
The show is described as "one part rom and two parts com, with a splash of culture clash".
Reviewers have been unanimous in their praise of the show.
★★★★★ "Flawless" - The Observer
★★★★ "Gem of a Show" - The Independent
★★★★ "It's a charmer" - The Guardian
★★★★ "The performances are the very definition of the icing on the cake" - Theatre Weekly
Tickets are on sale now for the 3 month run from 4th April.
