RTE's award-winning crime drama 'Kin' returns to the channel on Sunday night. The new 8-part series will once again star Emmett J. Scanlan as Jimmy Kinsella, a member of the criminal Kinsella gang family. The role earned Emmett an IFTA nomination for Best Supporting Actor last year.
The first season of the acclaimed show won 6 IFTAs so the new season is highly anticipated by critics and fans.
Emmett has talked about the new series saying, "the story is fast, it’s violent, it’s unpredictable and the stakes are even higher this time." He goes on to say that writer Peter McKenna's scripts are "incredible", continuing, "he will take you hopefully over the next eight weeks on a journey where you will say ‘I think I prefer this season to last season."
He also talked about how much he enjoys playing Jimmy, saying, "I just love the tormented demon that is Jimmy. He isn’t easy to play, but nothing worth having should be."
The new series starts on Sunday night on RTE One at 9.30pm. The first series is currently available in the UK on Prime Video, but no UK release date for series 2 has been announced.
