Hannah Onslow has been confirmed to star as Diana, the female lead in the BBC's newly announced drama series 'This City is Ours'. The full cast was announced yesterday and sees her starring alongside two-time BAFTA winner Sean Bean who will play gang leader Ronnie Phelan.
The epic crime drama is set in Liverpool and follows drug trafficker Michael Kavanagh (played by James Nelson-Joyce) who has worked for Ronnie all his adult life. But when he meets and falls in love with Diana he starts to re-evaluate his life, imagining a different future with the woman he loves and the child he has always wanted.
The official synopsis reads, "This is a story about family, and love destroyed and corrupted by ambition, pride and greed. It’s a story about power: what we will do to secure and keep it."
The 8-part series is filming now in Liverpool and Spain. It is produced by Left Bank, known as producers of The Crown and Dear England.
