British actress Hannah Onslow is a young rising star of film & TV who recently appeared alongside Olivia Colman, Michael Ward and Colin Firth in the Sam Mendes Academy Award & Golden Globe nominated film ‘Empire of Light’. She played Janine, a young employee at the Empire Cinema where the main characters work.
2025 sees her starring as Diana, the female lead in the major new BBC One drama series 'This City Is Ours', set against a backdrop of organised crime in Liverpool, and also starring Sean Bean. 2025 also saw her in the major role of Emily Dunn in the ITVX period drama series 'Belgravia: The Next Chapter', written by Julian Fellowes.
She had a pivotal role in the BAFTA winning TV series ‘This is Going to Hurt’ in which she played a young pregnant woman, Erika, who becomes central to the drama that unfolds around maternity ward doctor Adam Kay. She also played Elise in the 2021 BBC drama series ‘Ridley Road’, set in the 1960s about the Jewish opposition to British Fascism.
In 2024 she starred in Sally El Hosaini's independent film 'Unicorns' and in 2023 she played Pre-Raphaelite model Lizzie in the Paramount+ thriller series ‘The Doll Factory’. She also made a brief appearance in ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’.
Hannah naturally speaks with an Essex accent but regularly uses a neutral or RP accent in her work.
