'Marple' is a new series of twelve audiobooks featuring Agatha Christie's iconic female detective Miss Marple. Each story is written by a different acclaimed author and voiced by a celebrity reader. Each author reimagines Agatha Christie’s Marple through their own unique perspective while staying true to the hallmarks of a traditional mystery. The new stories, the first since Christie’s final tale in 1945, take Miss Marple on a crime-solving spree that transports her from her quiet village of St Mary Mead to the bustling streets of New York, to the sun-soaked Italian riviera and beyond.
Imogen Stubbs narrates 'The Unravelling' which has been written by award winning author Natalie Haynes. Other authors in the series include Val McDermid, Kate Mosse and Lucy Foley.
James Prichard, CEO of Agatha Christie Limited and Agatha Christie’s great-grandson, said, “The different voices that will tell these different stories only emphasises the variety and breadth within the collection. Audio is often an added extra for a book. This is more than that."
Fionnuala Barrett, HarperCollins’ audio publishing director, added: “It’s been a pleasure to assemble and work with such an accomplished cast on this exceptional collection of new Marple stories. Each narrator breathes so much life into their respective tale, playing to the strengths of each scenario and cast of characters. The performances are wonderful.”
All 12 stories are available as audiobooks via Audible from today, 15th September.
