The highly anticipated conclusion to Netflix hit series 'The Last Kingdom' is released today, Friday 14th April. 'Seven Kings Must Die' is the feature film length finale to the story which is based on 'The Saxon Stories' by Bernard Cornwell.
James Northcote reprises his role as Uhtred's loyal supporter Aldhelm, who was almost killed at the end of the last series after being trampled in the fray during a huge battle. Tom Christian plays new character Dunstan, who fans think may be based on the Archbishop of Canterbury at the time and was later canonised as a saint.
James recently spoke about the film saying, "Obviously it sort of felt just like going back to school making the film together, but at the same time, there was something different working in that format. The way we approached it differently, production approached it differently. And so I think the film is on a scale that is the right way to end the show. I haven't seen all of it so I can't speak with great authority but from what I know it's going to close that final chapter out in a beautiful way".
He goes on to talk about Aldhelm's fate in the film revealing, "It certainly closes Aldhelm's story out in a way that I don't think people will necessarily expect. But I was very pleased to be able to take him to that place and so I'm really looking forward to people seeing it. Aldhelm certainly is a survivor, for a character who in the books would have died probably in season three maximum he's come quite a long way."
James Northcote and Tom Christian are both available as voiceovers from Anthea Represents. Click their images for their profile pages and voiceover showreels.
