Janet Kumah will star in brand new Country musical ‘Wild Rose’ which premieres at the Edinburgh Lyceum on 6th March

Brand new Country musical 'Wild Rose' opens at the Edinburgh Lyceum on Thursday 6th March.  The "uplifting and heart-warming" new musical tells the story of free-spirited Rose-Lynn, newly released from prison, who dreams of escaping Glasgow and making it as a country singer in Nashville.

After pressure from her mother to ditch the fantasy and focus on raising her two young kids, she reluctantly takes a job as a cleaner.  Her dreams resurface when she meets her new boss Susannah, who becomes her biggest champion, bringing her dream closer than ever.

Dawn Sievewright stars as Rose-Lynn, with Janet Kumah playing Susannah.

The musical is written by award-winning screenwriter Nicole Taylor, best known for adapting the screenplay for the smash hit Netflix series 'One Day' and winner of a Best Writer BAFTA for the 3-part BBC drama 'Three Girls'. It is based on her critically acclaimed 2018 film of the same name.

This world premiere production will feature songs from Country music legends including Dolly Parton, Carrie Underwood, Wynonna Judd, Chris Stapleton, Caitlyn Smith, The Chicks, and Patty Griffin, alongside the film’s award-winning original song Glasgow (No Place Like Home).

Tickets are on sale now.  Until 19th April.

Janet Kumah is available for voiceovers from Anthea Represents.  Click her image for her profile page and voiceover showreel.
