Comedy drama 'The Change' returns for a second series tonight at 10pm on Channel 4. Written by and starring BAFTA nominated comedian Bridget Christie, the show follows the adventures of Linda who has an identity crisis when she hits 50 and is told she has started the menopause.
Series One saw her take to her Triumph motorbike and undertake a pilgrimage to 'find herself' around her old haunts in Gloucestershire's Forest of Dean, joining the Forest community.
The new series sees Linda having to own up to the lies she told to the Forest community which she is now part of and also sees the arrival of her husband Steve who comes to take her home.
We are also introduced to a new character, another of the Eel Sisters, Eel Sister Theresa, played by Laura Checkley. Recently released from jail, Theresa is a self-confessed witch who can speak with the birds, but is sceptical about Linda who’s clearly been causing ripples in her absence.
Laura posted on Instagram how much she loves this show saying "I really hope it makes you smile and laugh and forget about all the horrible sh*t going on out there for a bit. It’s a bit special this show, poignant and full of hope. So do yourself a favour and tune in, you won’t regret it."
The first series won plenty of plaudits from critics as well as a number of award nominations and Series 2 looks set to be equally popular...with The Guardian describing it as "ambitious, surreal, moving, and above all hysterically funny ★★★★★" whilst iNews declares the new series "a tender, curious, hilarious treasure: a rare and special specimen that must be protected like the last mushroom of its kind in the forest ★★★★★".
All 6 episodes of the new series (as well as Series 1) are available to stream now at Channel4.com. Watch the trailer.
Laura Checkley is available for voiceovers from Anthea Represents. Click her image for her profile page and voiceover showreel.
